About The Role

Teach West London is seeking to appoint a committed and inspiring Teaching School Hub Teacher Development Lead

Salary: L5-10

Hours: Fulltime

Contract: Permanent

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly successful practitioner and leader who is passionate about developing teachers and raising standards across schools. We are looking for someone with the credibility, expertise and ambition to lead on high‑quality professional development and Induction for Early Career Teachers, contribute to the delivery and quality assurance of Secondary Initial Teacher training and play a key role in shaping West London’s future teaching workforce.

As Teach West London continues to grow as a Teaching School Hub and accredited ITT provider, this role offers scope for progression. It would particularly suit someone who sees themselves taking on broader leadership responsibilities within the Teaching School Hub or Twyford CofE Academies Trust in the coming years.

The role will include:

  • Leading on the delivery of high‑quality professional development for Early Career Teachers (ECTs), ensuring excellent facilitation, strong engagement and statutory support and assessment across induction (working across ECTP and Appropriate Body strands).
  • To contribute to the delivery and quality assurance of Secondary Initial Teacher Training (ITT), including oversight of placements and the provision of bespoke support to schools, mentors and trainees when required.
  • To support the recruitment of high‑quality trainees onto Teach West London’s ITT programmes.

The successful post-holder will support the Head of Hub to sustain the already successful TSH base at Ada Lovelace CofE High School. The role itself has scope for hybrid working by negotiation. Regular visits to partner schools to quality assure ITT and ECTP programme delivery and induction arrangements would be required as part of this role.

You will become part of an ambitious and highly experienced team committed to outstanding teacher development, and supported by a successful Teaching School Hub and Trust Leadership team.

Successful Candidates will:

  • Have successful experience supporting, developing or training teachers, ECTs and trainees.
  • Be confident analysing data, reporting accurately and using insight to drive improvement.
  • Have the ability to build trusted professional relationships with schools, mentors, trainees and colleagues.
  • Be well‑organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload with autonomy.

Teach West London 

Teach West London is the Teaching School Hub serving Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow and partners with UCL. Its vision is to empower schools to achieve the highest standards for students through training educators in effective classroom practice and school leadership. It has consciously developed a model of local partnership working and aimed to build capacity within partner schools. Since it opened in September 2021, it has been highly successful in engaging with schools across the four boroughs as well extending its reach nationally in some areas. More than 330 schools currently make use of its networks overall, either as part of the Early Careers Teacher programme, the National Professional Qualifications, Initial Teacher Training and/or the Appropriate Body service. Twyford CE Academies Trust

The Twyford Church of England Academies Trust (TCEAT) is a compact Church of England multi-academy Trust which comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing.  The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community.
