Ada Lovelace Church of England High School is seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and high-quality Post 16 Pastoral Lead to guide the next generation of changemakers. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our thriving, modern Sixth Form, guiding students through the most transformative stage of their education.

You will be the driving force behind pastoral care, championing a culture where every student feels valued and inspired. From coordinating enriching wider learning & leadership experiences to managing UCAS and apprenticeship pathways, you will prepare young people for success in the real world. Ada Lovelace specialises in T-Level delivery and has secured high-quality industry partners, ensuring students gain exceptional opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-world practice.

Our vision is to develop confident, professional adults with highly developed soft skills. We are looking to appoint a leader who shares that ambition. If you are passionate about empowering students to flourish academically, socially, and personally and are eager to pioneer modern approaches to education, we would welcome your application.

At Ada Lovelace High School, we place a strong emphasis on valuing staff time and supporting professional growth. Our approach is designed to help teachers thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Students finish early on Fridays, giving staff dedicated time for high-quality CPD every Friday afternoon. This ensures that professional development is embedded into the working week. Our commitment to staff wellbeing goes hand in hand with our ambition for excellence, with a centralised academic curriculum alongside shared pastoral systems and resources.

We provide opportunities for colleagues to deepen subject knowledge, engage in research, and undertake further qualifications such as National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). Our CPD programme is comprehensive and forward-thinking, ensuring staff remain up to date with the latest developments in pedagogy and curriculum design.

At Ada Lovelace, we believe the biggest impact happens when we work together as a team. Team culture is central to everything we do, and we regularly remind ourselves that “we are all developing teachers.” Collaboration, consistency, and shared learning are at the heart of our approach.

We offer:

  • Exceptional professional development and career progression
  • Positive working relationships at all levels
  • A supportive Leadership Team
  • Opportunities to gain experience within four different Trust schools with a shared commitment to collaboration

The successful candidate will have:

  • A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students across the ability range
  • A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
  • A reflective approach and drive for continuous improvement
  • A commitment to the ethos and values of the school

The school reserves the right to research shortlisted candidates on social media platforms and the internet, and the recruitment panel may take this information into consideration during the recruitment process

The Twyford Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful applicant will be required to undergo the child protection screening appropriate to the post, including an enhanced disclosure from the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and references from previous employers.  For more information about the DBS please see https://www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check.  The post-holder will also be expected to read and adhere to the Trust’s Child Protection Policy, and any other Safeguarding documents stated within this.

The Twyford Church of England Academy Trust is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME) and disabled people are currently under-represented among our staff, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.

About the school

Ada Lovelace CE High School

Ada Lovelace Church of England High School is the newest school in the Twyford CE Academies Trust having moved into its brand-new permanent site in north Ealing in September 2020. The school has now reached full capacity, educating just over 1090 students across years 7 to 13. Ada Lovelace is named after the Victorian pioneer of computing and has a specialism in Digital Technologies which has led to the launch of T-levels at the school in Digital Production, Design and Development , Laboratory Science and Accounting. Being part of the top-performing Multi-Academies Trust in the UK has enabled Ada Lovelace to achieve outstanding GCSE results with progress measures at GCSE which have consistently placed it in the top 1% of schools nationally. Whilst the school has a strong Christian ethos, its admissions policy is open rather than faith-based and the school is heavily oversubscribed. It is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted (January 2023) and was very successful in its SIAMS inspection (2025). More information can be found on the school website: https://adalovelace.org.uk/

The admissions policy for each Trust school includes criterion for ‘Children of all staff’ places for Year 7 entry.

Twyford CE Academies Trust

The Twyford Church of England Academies Trust (TCEAT) is a compact Church of England multi-academy Trust which comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing.  The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community. Over a 10 year period it launched three new schools Ada Lovelace, Ealing Fields and William Perkin all of which have achieved progress outcomes ranking them in the top 5% of schools nationally, making TCEAT the highest attaining Trust in the UK for student progress by Year 11. TCEAT aims to deliver outstanding education in a comprehensive school setting and embraces the Twyford School motto ‘Life in all its fullness’, encouraging students to use their individual gifts wisely and well.  Supported by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS), the TCEAT operates on collaborative principles with some central services to achieve consistency of provision.  The Trust has a highly evolved common curriculum which has been devised by staff within the four schools. The Trust is also the hub of Teach West London and prides itself on high quality, peer-led CPD within a dynamic culture of self-improvement.
