About The Role

We are looking for a Business/Economics Teacher in a school that offers excellent opportunities for professional development. Twyford Church of England High School, an Ofsted outstanding school with a thriving Sixth Form, is one of four Twyford Trust schools and offers exciting development opportunities and good promotion prospects for talented and energetic teachers who support the ethos of our schools. The school offers comprehensive T&L and CPD opportunities for all teachers.

The role is also suitable for NQTs and RQTs.

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative teacher and curriculum planner who is looking to support the Business and/or Economics departments in planning and delivering the curriculum, and for monitoring the progress of students. The new teacher will contribute to a consistently high quality of teaching and learning in the department(s) at both KS4 and KS5, and will support the development of a culture of sharing good practice. There are six Economics classes and two Business classes at KS5, Business is also taught in Y10 and Y11. As part of a larger Social Sciences faculty, the new teacher will benefit from close working relationships with colleagues, particularly in supporting Key Stage 5 attainment. They will also be committed to the delivery of a rich wider learning offer.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Ability to teach Business and/or Economics to A Level
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum
  • An understanding of recent curriculum / learning developments
  • An understanding of the strategies required to motivate and enthuse all students across the ability range as part of a whole school approach to raising achievement
  • An understanding of the processes and techniques required to assess, record and report students’ learning effectively

About the school

Twyford CE High School is consulting on its Admissions policy for entry into Year 7 in September 2026 to include ‘Children of Staff’ places. If, as we expect, the proposal is approved, the admissions policy will include the following criterion: ‘Children of all staff’ where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made or where the member of staff has been recruited to a post where there is a demonstrable skill shortage.

 

Twyford CE High School, Acton

Twyford Church of England High School is the founding school of the Twyford CE Academies Trust which is the highest performing Trust in the UK.  It has developed specialisms in Music and Modern Foreign Languages and a reputation for excellence which has made it heavily oversubscribed. Twyford has very strong Christian foundations and is rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted (October 2023) and SIAMS (April 2017). Twyford educates 1000 students in years 7-11 and consistently achieves outstanding GCSE results with a Progress 8 score of +1.26 in 2023 and +1.1 in 2024. The school has a large Sixth Form of over 600 students and offers a wide range of A-Levels with results so strong that they are always placed within the top 10% of schools nationally. Twyford CE Academies Trust

The Twyford Church of England Academies Trust (TCEAT) is a Multi Academy Trust which comprises four secondary schools in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable our heavily oversubscribed existing school, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community. Over a 10-year period it launched three new schools Ealing Fields, William Perkin and Ada Lovelace all of which have achieved progress outcomes ranking them in the top 1% of schools nationally, making TCEAT the highest performing Trust in the UK including the progress made by disadvantaged students.
